In May 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Back Thru Spring by William Smith Ronald. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 100,250.00 (€ 78,341.60), 25% above the upper estimate. With this result, Back Thru Spring is even the most expensive work of art by William Smith Ronald that we have observed at auctions so far.
