Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 8 Mile Road (Detroit or Destroyed?) by William Cordova was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,125.00 (€ 1,010.78). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Cordova - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the lower frequencies I speak 4U, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,903.64).
