Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Homeward Bound by Wangechi Mutu was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. It achieved a price of USD 8,190.00 (€ 6,807.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wangechi Mutu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Little Thought for All Ya'll Who're Thinking of Beating Around the Bush in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 204,500.00 (€ 267,477.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Homeward Bound von Wangechi Mutu kam im April 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 6.807,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wangechi Mutu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Little Thought for All Ya'll Who're Thinking of Beating Around the Bush im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 204.500,00 (€ 267.477,97).
