Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session, which included the work Eleven works: (I-XI) Untitled (Motorcycle Series) by Tom of Finland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 189,000.00 (€ 167,449.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Tom of Finland have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] was auctioned for USD 289,800.00 (€ 270,058.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eleven works: (I-XI) Untitled (Motorcycle Series) von Tom of Finland zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 167.449,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Tom of Finland konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai letzten Jahres die Arbeit Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] für USD 289.800,00 (€ 270.058,71) versteigert.
