Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tom of Finland achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in June this year. In the The Male Form auction, the work Sans titre (Dessin préparatoire pour #83.29) sold for EUR 24,320.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom of Finland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] in May last year with an auction result of USD 289,800.00 (€ 270,058.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tom of Finland erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Male Form wurde die Arbeit Sans titre (Dessin préparatoire pour #83.29) für EUR 24.320,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom of Finland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 289.800,00 (€ 270.058,71).
