Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Untitled (Cowboy) by Tom of Finland was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in December this year. The price achieved of GBP 4,064.00 (€ 4,681.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom of Finland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] in May last year with an auction result of USD 289,800.00 (€ 270,058.71).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Untitled (Cowboy) von Tom of Finland wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.064,00 (€ 4.681,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom of Finland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 289.800,00 (€ 270.058,71).
