Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Thomas Nozkowski achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July last year. In the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 16,380.00 (€ 16,055.68) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Nozkowski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (8-64), which sold at auction in May this year for USD 48,260.00 (€ 45,297.54).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Nozkowski erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 16.380,00 (€ 16.055,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Nozkowski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (8-64) beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 48.260,00 (€ 45.297,54) versteigert wurde.
