Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ostrich/Rooster/Donkey, from the Misfits Series by Thomas Grünfeld was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,273.86). Admittedly, works by Thomas Grünfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Misfit (Cow) in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,649.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ostrich/Rooster/Donkey, from the Misfits Series von Thomas Grünfeld im November 2010 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.273,86) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Grünfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Misfit (Cow) im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 44.649,28).
