Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sans Titre (Misfit), 1996 by Thomas Grünfeld was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in December 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 7,134.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Grünfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Misfit (Cow) in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,649.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sans Titre (Misfit), 1996 von Thomas Grünfeld im Dezember 2010 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 7.134,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Grünfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Misfit (Cow) im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 44.649,28).
