Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Tara Donovan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,133.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tara Donovan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Pins) in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 109,510.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Tara Donovan im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.133,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tara Donovan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Pins) im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 109.510,51).
