Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Poems (38-44) by Steven Shearer was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,926.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Steven Shearer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hash in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 148,617.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Poems (38-44) von Steven Shearer im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.926,99) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Steven Shearer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hash im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 106.250,00 (€ 148.617,21).
