Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Boy with Dog by Steven Shearer. The price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 59,710.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steven Shearer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hash, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 106,250.00 (€ 148,617.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy with Dog von Steven Shearer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 59.710,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Steven Shearer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hash beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 106.250,00 (€ 148.617,21) versteigert wurde.
