Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Steven Campbell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Hunter In A Camouflage Docey Landscape sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,203.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steven Campbell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work To The North With Good Luck, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 34,100.00 (€ 43,376.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Steven Campbell erzielte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Hunter In A Camouflage Docey Landscape für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.203,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Steven Campbell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit To The North With Good Luck beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 34.100,00 (€ 43.376,69) versteigert wurde.
