Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Stan Douglas could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open auction, the work Marquard changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 923.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stan Douglas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty-Five photographs from the Detroit Series (Part I): Home Beside Jefferson Junior High; Abandoned Apartment Building; Fox Creek; Private Park at Grosse Pointe Farms; Meadow and Golightly Education Center; Gem Theater, The Horseshoe, Paradise Val in November 2002 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 72,190.
