The work Fish by Matthew Smith was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in March 2019. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,741.00) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Connie Martin in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 252,766.38).

Die Arbeit Fish von Matthew Smith wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.741,00) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Connie Martin im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 212.500,00 (€ 252.766,38).
