The work Peonies and Lilies by Matthew Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,068.34), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthew Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Connie Martin, which sold at auction in January 2020 for GBP 212,500.00 (€ 252,766.38).

Die Arbeit Peonies and Lilies von Matthew Smith kam im November 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.068,34) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Für andere Arbeiten von Matthew Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Connie Martin beobachtet, die im Januar 2020 für GBP 212.500,00 (€ 252.766,38) versteigert wurde.
