Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction POST-WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART DAY SALE, which included the work The Great Bear by Simon Patterson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,449.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Patterson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Great Bear in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,983.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion POST-WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART DAY SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Great Bear von Simon Patterson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.449,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Patterson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Great Bear im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.983,67).
