Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Lead Knots: 7) by Sherrie Levine was auctioned at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,204.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherrie Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Lead Knots: 7) von Sherrie Levine kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.204,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
