Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (After Alexander Rodchenko: 11) by Sherrie Levine was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 9,525.00 (€ 9,013.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherrie Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).

Die Arbeit Untitled (After Alexander Rodchenko: 11) von Sherrie Levine wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.525,00 (€ 9.013,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
