Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work After Fernand Léger Four Works by Sherrie Levine for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,739.82). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherrie Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit After Fernand Léger Four Works von Sherrie Levine für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.739,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
