SCOTT CAMPBELL (b. 1973) Huge Revolver signed and dated 'Scott Campbell 2011' (on the backing board) lasered uncirculated United States dollar currency sheets 42 x 50 in. (106.7 x 127 cm.) Executed in 2011.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Huge Revolver by Scott Campbell was sold in the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in July last year. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,880.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Scott Campbell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cloth Skull Cube, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,809.12).

Die Arbeit Huge Revolver von Scott Campbell wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.880,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Scott Campbell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cloth Skull Cube beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 24.809,12) versteigert wurde.
