This artwork by Samuel Bourne achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2008. In the Photographs auction, the work India. Fifty-Four Views, 1860S-1870S sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,540.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Bourne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Himalayas in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 116,168.53).
