Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Ruins of the Emperor Jehangeer's Palace, Agra; et Mosque at Fattehpore-Sikri by Samuel Bourne was sold in the PHOTOGRAPHIES COLLECTION D'UN AMATEUR auction at Christies in Paris in November 2002. The price achieved of EUR 587.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Bourne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Himalayas in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 116,168.53).
