Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Indian architecture and landscapes by Samuel Bourne was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in London in May 2002. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,871.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Bourne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Himalayas in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 116,168.53).
