Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Five Revolutionary Seconds Xi by Sam Taylor-Johnson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,600.00 (€ 16,055.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Taylor-Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work After Van Halen, which sold at auction in February 2008 for USD 88,000.00 (€ 57,944.29).
