Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work M 37 Galactic Cluster In Aurigo by Russell Crotty for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,739.23). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Russell Crotty - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two works: (i) The Crescent Nebula in Cygnus (ii) Fake Ranch, which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,889.58).
