Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Roy Lichtenstein could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Brushstroke Vi changed hands for USD 197,000.00 (€ 158,385.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roy Lichtenstein konnte im November 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Brushstroke Vi für USD 197.000,00 (€ 158.385,59) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
