Auction result well in line with expectations
The work This Is Not A Gun by Roger Brown was sold in the Contemporary Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,132.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cloud Cover in May last year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).

Die Arbeit This Is Not A Gun von Roger Brown wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.132,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roger Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cloud Cover im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66).
