Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thou Shalt Not by Roger Brown was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. The price achieved of USD 69,062.50 (€ 61,187.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cloud Cover, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).

Die Arbeit Thou Shalt Not von Roger Brown kam im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 69.062,50 (€ 61.187,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Roger Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cloud Cover beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66) versteigert wurde.
