This artwork by Roger Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Hank Williams, Honky Tonk Man sold for USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,360.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cloud Cover in May last year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roger Brown erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Hank Williams, Honky Tonk Man für USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.360,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roger Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cloud Cover im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66).
