Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Big Bang by Roger Brown was sold in the 20th c. and Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 42,840.00 (€ 35,028.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Roger Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cloud Cover in May last year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).
