Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Painter Of The Dunes by Roger Brown. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,116.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Roger Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cloud Cover in May last year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Painter Of The Dunes von Roger Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.116,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roger Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cloud Cover im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66).
