This artwork by Roger Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2020. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Lenny Skutnik and Norman Mayer (Two Opposites of Human Character) sold for USD 175,000.00 (€ 158,672.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roger Brown; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cloud Cover sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).
