Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naturaleza muerta by Roberto Montenegro was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in New York in December last year. The price achieved of USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,342.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roberto Montenegro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 157,589.51).

Die Arbeit Naturaleza muerta von Roberto Montenegro wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.342,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roberto Montenegro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 157.589,51).
