In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Tehuanos by Roberto Montenegro. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,023.87) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roberto Montenegro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 187,500.00 (€ 157,589.51).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tehuanos von Roberto Montenegro zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.023,87) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Roberto Montenegro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 187.500,00 (€ 157.589,51) versteigert wurde.
