Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Untitled (Surreal Dancer) by Roberto Montenegro. The auction ended at the price of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,942.07), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Roberto Montenegro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 157,589.51).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Surreal Dancer) von Roberto Montenegro zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.942,07) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roberto Montenegro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 157.589,51).
