Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Untitled (Tehuanas In Traditional Huipil Grande Headdresses) by Roberto Montenegro. The price achieved of USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,876.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roberto Montenegro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 187,500.00 (€ 157,589.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Tehuanas In Traditional Huipil Grande Headdresses) von Roberto Montenegro zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.876,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Roberto Montenegro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 187.500,00 (€ 157.589,51) versteigert wurde.
