Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Hunter could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Untitled #7 changed hands for AUD 22,800.00 (€ 13,404.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Hunter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of George Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere, and his second wife Jane, daughter of Rev. James Mackay, the latter holding a baby in her arms, three-quarter-length, seated on a sofa, the former in Volunteer uniform, in an interior with a d in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 149,650.00 (€ 234,353.92
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Group portrait of George Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere, and his second wife Jane, daughter of Rev. James Mackay, the latter holding a baby in her arms, three-quarter-length, seated on a sofa, the former in Volunteer uniform, in an interior with a d im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 149.650,00 (€ 234.353,92).
