Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included this untitled work by Robert Hunter. The price achieved of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,642.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Hunter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of George Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere, and his second wife Jane, daughter of Rev. James Mackay, the latter holding a baby in her arms, three-quarter-length, seated on a sofa, the former in Volunteer uniform, in an interior with a d in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 149,650.00 (€ 234,353.92
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Robert Hunter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.642,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Hunter erzielen.
