The work Portrait Of The Rt. Hon. John Ormsby Vandeleur Of Kilrush (1765-1828), When A Boy by Robert Hunter was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2008. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,360.22), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Hunter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of George Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere, and his second wife Jane, daughter of Rev. James Mackay, the latter holding a baby in her arms, three-quarter-length, seated on a sofa, the former in Volunteer uniform, in an interior with a d in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 149,650.00 (€ 234,353.92
