This price was achieved in the auction The Irish Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Robert Hunter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Group portrait of George Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere, and his second wife Jane, daughter of Rev.
