Die Arbeit Artist's Bookplates von Robert Gober kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 756,00 (€ 761,02) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Gober erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.287.500,00 (€ 6.244.644,39).
