Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled Clviii by Robert Courtright was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,719.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Courtright - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (White), which sold at auction in April 2014 for EUR 17,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled Clviii von Robert Courtright wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.719,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Courtright mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (White) beobachtet, die im April 2014 für EUR 17.500,00 versteigert wurde.
