Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, from the Joyce Series by Robert Courtright was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,776.91). Admittedly, works by Robert Courtright have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (White) in April 2014 with an auction result of EUR 17,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, from the Joyce Series von Robert Courtright im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.776,91) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Courtright auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (White) im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.500,00.
