Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Awakening Earth by Richard Pousette-Dart. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 336,500.00 (€ 282,820.64). Admittedly, works by Richard Pousette-Dart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blood Wedding in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,489,111.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Awakening Earth von Richard Pousette-Dart zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 336.500,00 (€ 282.820,64) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Pousette-Dart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blood Wedding im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.489.111,91).
