In March last year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Until I Die / Georgia Trees & the Upper Room by Radcliffe Bailey. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,407.55), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Radcliffe Bailey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Day Of Soumbedioune In Dakar, 2008 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 62,812.50 (€ 54,256.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Until I Die / Georgia Trees & the Upper Room von Radcliffe Bailey zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.407,55) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Radcliffe Bailey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Day Of Soumbedioune In Dakar, 2008 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.812,50 (€ 54.256,28).
