Auction result well in line with expectations
The work By the River by Radcliffe Bailey was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,926.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Radcliffe Bailey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Day Of Soumbedioune In Dakar, 2008 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 62,812.50 (€ 54,256.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit By the River von Radcliffe Bailey kam im Juli 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.926,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Radcliffe Bailey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Day Of Soumbedioune In Dakar, 2008 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.812,50 (€ 54.256,28).
