Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waterfall, Yosemite, California by Pirkle Jones was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2008. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,899.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pirkle Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portfolio Two', which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 14,055.64).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.899,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Pirkle Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portfolio Two' beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 19.200,00 (€ 14.055,64) versteigert wurde.
