Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Polaroid Collection, which included the work San Francisco Views by Pirkle Jones. The price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,559.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pirkle Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portfolio Two', which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 14,055.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Polaroid Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit San Francisco Views von Pirkle Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.559,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Pirkle Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portfolio Two' beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 19.200,00 (€ 14.055,64) versteigert wurde.
