Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition, Back Yard, San Francisco, California (Garden Detail) by Pirkle Jones was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2010. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,593.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pirkle Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portfolio Two', which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 14,055.64).
